There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. These classic treats are a staple in many households, and for good reason. They are simple to make, require minimal ingredients, and are downright irresistible. In this blog post, I will share my go-to recipe for the perfect chocolate chip cookies.
Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1 cup packed brown sugar
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 2 large eggs
– 3 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed.
Step 3: Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough.
Step 5: Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Step 6: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. If you prefer larger cookies, you can use an ice cream scoop to portion the dough.
Step 7: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may appear slightly undercooked, but they will continue to set as they cool.
Step 8: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will help them firm up slightly and prevent them from falling apart.
Step 9: Once cooled, grab a glass of milk and enjoy these delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies!
