Tiramisu, meaning “pick me up” in Italian, is a classic dessert that has become popular all over the world. It is a layered dessert consisting of ladyfingers soaked in coffee and liqueur, topped with a luscious mixture of whipped mascarpone cheese, eggs, and sugar, and dusted with cocoa powder. The combination of flavors and textures in Tiramisu is simply irresistible.

To make this delectable dessert, you will need the following ingredients:
– 6 egg yolks
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2/3 cup milk
– 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
– 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
– 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
– 24 ladyfingers
– 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
– 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
– Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Now, let’s get started with the recipe!

1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until well combined and creamy.

2. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Continue whisking the egg yolk mixture for about 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes thick and pale yellow in color.
